Session Title
Support, Don’t Solve: Shifting from Fixing to Empowering

Leah Marone, LCSW  Psychotherapist, Mental Wellness Consultant

Leah Marone is a psychotherapist, Yale Clinical Instructor, and corporate mental wellness
consultant with over 20 years of experience. A former Division 1 athlete, she specializes in high
achievers struggling with imposter syndrome, perfectionism, and performance anxiety. Leah has
conducted over 20,000 therapy sessions and contributed to Psychology Today, Newsweek, and
The Atlantic. She works with organizations on burnout prevention, boundary setting, and
emotional intelligence. A sought-after speaker, Leah has presented her Support, Don’t Solve
framework to leaders nationwide. Her new book, Serial Fixer, exploring the hidden patterns of
over-functioning and how to break free.

HR professionals play a critical role in fostering a healthy, high-performing workplace, often
balancing the demands of supporting employees while managing their own well-being. This
session introduces the Support, Don’t Solve framework, designed to help leaders and HR
teams set boundaries that foster trust, autonomy, and sustainable success. Using
principles from Internal Family Systems (IFS), we’ll explore how our InnerCritics,
InnerPleasers, and InnerRescuers contribute to serial fixing—often leading to emotional
exhaustion and ineƯiciency. By recognizing these patterns and the pressures they create,
attendees will learn how to maintain boundaries, implement recovery strategies, and
leverage transitional moments as opportunities to reset. Participants will also gain tools to
integrate these concepts into their HR practices, equipping managers and employees with
strategies to build resilience, gain self-awareness, and sustain well-being.

Learning Objectives
• Understand the Support, Don’t Solve framework and how it fosters autonomy, trust, and
accountability in workplace relationships.
• Identify and implement boundaries that protect energy, enhance focus, and prevent
burnout.
• Recognize and align with your InnerCritic, InnerPleaser, and InnerRescuer to prevent
serial fixing and false ownership.
• Develop strategies to navigate resistance while maintaining effective and trusting
relationships.
• Apply recovery techniques and use transitional moments as opportunities for resets to
sustain leadership effectiveness.
• Teach and model these strategies to managers and employees, reinforcing a culture of
self-awareness and resilience.
