2026 Annual Legal Update

 Join us as we start the New Year with valuable insights into the latest updates.

Guest Speaker: Jonathan M Crotty, Attorney with Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein, LLP

Jonathan Crotty has been a successful counselor and problem solver for large and

small employers in the Southeast and beyond for more than 30 years. He represents

employers in all aspects of the employment relationship, from hiring to discharge.

Jonathan provides guidance to employers as they navigate the complex array of laws

and regulations applicable to the employment relationship, including employment

discrimination laws, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)

compliance, Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and wage and hour matters.

 

This session will review important developments in labor and employment law over the past year,

focusing on changes to top federal law and regulatory agencies resulting from the change in

administrations.

 

Topics include:

  •            The Trump administration’s changes to EEOC and other federal agency enforcement priorities
  •          Current status of corporate diversity initiatives and affirmative action programs
  •          New rules for responding to religious accommodation requests
  •          New overtime and tip federal tax deductions
  •          Issues and opportunities with AI hiring and employee evaluation tools
  •          Refresher on reduction in force basics

The session objectives include alerting businesses to important changes in the law, as well as

developing enforcement trends at the federal and state levels. We will also review anticipated

additional changes over the upcoming years, including important pending litigation and litigation trends.
